Is an Adapter Bar Needed to Carry a Womens Mountain Bike on a Thule Helium Aero Bike Carrier

Question:

It seems as though there is conflicting info as to whether or not I will need an adapter to use this bike rack. I have a womens mountainbike. This is my first trailer hitch bike rack.

It all depends on the bike design. I could tell you for sure one way or the other if you could tell me the bike manufacturer and the model. But in general an adapter bar can be used if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would). For an adapter I recommend using # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level on the bike rack # TH9042PRO and will provide better ground clearance.
