What is Actual Weight Limit for Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28

Question:

Installed the first bar on my 8foot 3inch trailer and it seems kinda weak. Previous Q and A stated it has a capacity of 400lbs. total per pair. But found another answer where someone asked about the capacity at a seven foot width and the reply was 300#. Can someone please clarify if indeed they have a total 400# capacity even at an 8foot 3inch spread. Thanks

The weight capacity of the Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 is 400-lbs maximum if it is installed on a trailer with rain gutters that also has the same weight capacity. This is the maximum capacity of the entire 2-bar rack.

The structure that the rack is mounted on naturally also affects the actual load capacity of the combined trailer roof/rack structure. The rack's capacity remains 400-lbs up to its maximum extension of 8-1/2-feet but the particular trailer it is installed on may have a different weight capacity. It is a good idea to check with the trailer manufacturer, if possible, to confirm how much weight its roof structure can handle.

The rack includes stainless steel installation hardware.
