How to Determine the Correct Electric Trailer Brakes for a Trailer with 8-Lug Wheels

Have a dual axle 24ft stock trailer......it has 8 lugs how do I tell what brakes to order

Considering that you have 8 lug hubs you will likely need 12 inch brakes but they could also be 12-1/4 inch brakes. It all depends on the axle capacity. To determine which brakes will fit I will need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the bearings.
If the trailer already have hub and drum assemblies then you can measure the inner diameter of a drum and the width where the pads on the shoes makes contact. I have included a couple of pictures that should help.
Also, you will need to check the bolt pattern on the brake mounting flange welded to the axle/spindle. It is likely a 4 or 5 bolt pattern. I have also included a link to our help article on electric drum brakes for you.
