Should there be a Gap Between a Convert-A-Ball 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter and Truck Bed

Question:

I have a b and w 30 k gooseneck hide a ball hitch on my 2012 f350. I installed concert a ball last night and noticed when I hooked up to camper that there was about an inch gap from the bottom of convert a ball to bed. Is this normal? Seems the when hooked up it will be able to swivel at this point.

You can determine if the Convert-A-Ball adapter # CAB-C5G is properly secured to the ball before towing. There isn't really a safe way if the adapter is already installed.

If you were to uninstall the adapter then you could place it on the ball manually and pull up on it to make sure it is coupling correctly but it does sound like it is. There should be some space between the bottom of the coupler and the truck bed. Otherwise the adapter would damage the truck bed.
