How to Pick Out Electric Winch Capacity for Loading Car on Trailer
Question:
I would be pulling a 3,000 lb race car onto a trailer from ground level to the 22inch high deck. How do I determine if the 3,400 lb winch is sufficient for that load?

Since your race car is a rolling load the Bulldog 1.5 hp Trailer/Utility Winch w/ Mounting Plate # BDW15017 that you referenced would have more than enough capacity. Even if the ramp angle on your trailer was very severe this winch would easily work for you.
I attached a help article that details how to pick out the correct electric winch. I also attached a chart that shows rolling load capacities for winches based on slope angle of the ramp. The closest capacity to the winch you referenced is highlighted on the chart.
