Will A Proportional Brake Controller Work On A 2006 Chevy Silverado With Tow Haul Speed Control

I have an 06 silverado that has the tow haul speed control on the transmission with down shifts on declines to maintain speed. Will the be a problem with a proportional controller when the tran. downshifts?

The Hopkins Brake Controller, # HM47294, is a proportional brake controller and it will not be a problem on your 2006 Chevy Silverado with the tow haul speed control on the transmission.
The proportional brake controller will only activate when you apply the brakes on the tow vehicle. It has a motion sensing device that will know how fast the tow vehicle is stopping and applies power to the trailer brakes, but it is only activated when the brake pedal is stepped on.
So when the transmission downshifts it will not activate the brake controller.
