Will 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe 4-Way Connector Provide Charge to Trailer Battery Through 7-Way Connector

Question:

Hi, A while back I purchased a hitch and 4pin wiring harness for my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe sport. Today I purchased a tent trailer without brakes but it does have a battery and 7-pin plug. My question is, to suffiecienty charge the battery do I have to run the additional 12volt wire to the battery or will it pull power from the 4-pin? Thank you!

Running a 12 volt power circuit on your 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe would allow you to maintain the trailer battery but would not provide a way to charge the battery. As for the 4-way, this will only provide power for the lights and signals on your trailer.

In order to actually charge the battery you will want to use a battery charger connected to a 110 outlet.
