Supplemental Braking and Lighting Recommendation for Flat Towing a 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I just purchased a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I have a 2002 Winnebago Journey DL with air brakes. I am interested in the RoadMaster InvisiBrake system but am concerned about one very important issue. When my engine brake comes on so do my brake lights. I do not want the brakes on the towed vehicle to be coming on when the engine brake engages. Is the InvisiBrake the right system for my jeep? I am hoping there is some type of work-around to cope with this issue as the Jeep does not have a lot of room for other systems. Thanking you in advance.

The Invisibrake part # RM-8700 would be a great choice for supplemental flat towing braking for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I attached an install video that show it being installed in a similar 2013 Wrangler.

You might need to check your local DOT, but because most likely if your tow vehicle's brakes lights are activating under any braking circumstances the towed vehicle's brakes lights will have to light up as well to be legal.

You should note that the Invisibrake does not activate the taillights of a vehicle. For tow bar lightine we recommend the # RM-155 for your Wrangler. I attached an install video for this as well.

I’m also installing the Roadmaster InvisiBrake system on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. My 2016 Jayco Grayhawk MPV has an electric brake controller using the auxiliary slot in the 7-wire plug. How do I wire the Invisibrake monitor that goes in the RV cab?

The Roadmaster InvisiBrake # RM-8700 will be completely independent of the trailer brake controller you already have installed on your RV. I've linked an install video below that you can use for reference.
