Would a 1-1/4 or a 2 Inch Hitch be Better for a 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
I have a thule 4 bike rack that fits a 1 1/4 receiver and am looking to get a hitch for my new Subie. I know that you recommend getting a 2 whenever possible, but would it be better to get the smaller one, or get a larger hitch and use an adapter? Thanks

Expert Reply:
A 2 inch hitch is going to allow more flexibility down the line which is why we always recommend using one when available for a particular vehicle. If there is a chance that you may want to use a cargo carrier or get a new bike rack in the future, I would definitely go with a 2 inch receiver and get a reducer sleeve like part # HT02.
