Curt Weight Distribution System and Drop Shank that Allows 5 inches of Drop Recommendation
Question:
I am interested in the Curt C 17052 load equalizing hitch. Can the shank included with the kit be substituted out for a shank with a greater ? Need about a 5.5 inch .

All of the Curt Weight Distribution Systems like the part # C17052 that you referenced come with a standard shank that can only do a drop of 1-1/2 inches.
The good news is that the Curt systems are priced so great that having to get a drop shank like the part # 17120 which can do 6-1/8 inches of drop still costs less than going with a different system that doesn't include a shank.
