Replacement Red Lens for Trailer Light That Measures 2-3/4 x 2 x 1-1/4 Inches

Question:

I am looking for a red side replacements lens for a trailer light. Measurement is 2 3/4H, 2 W, and 1 1/4 D. Number on it is D.O.T. P2PC 99. The closest lens I found is D.O.T. P2PCA99. Lens says it is 1 1/2 Deep. Is this the correct replacement and will it fit and do I need rubber gaskets for it. Thanks.

Usually the actual part numbers for a trailer light will be found on the light's base or on its rear surface. The DOT codes you found on the lens are not part numbers, but since you took measurements of the lens we can check for a replacement red lens using your dimensions.

Optronics red lens # A2RB measures 2-3/4 x 2 x 1-1/2 and has mounting holes spaced 2-5/16-inches apart on center. Peterson lens # 55-15R measures 2-3/4 x 2 and has mounting holes spaced 2-5/16-inches apart on center. Optronics # A35RB measures close at 2-7/8 x 2-1/8 and has mounting holes spaced at 2-3/8-inches center to center. These and other similar red lenses can be seen on the included link.

If the original lens had a gasket you should use one with the new lens. We do offer several lens gaskets such as # 30-17-034 and # A32GB which fit specific lights but these can be cut to size if needed, or you could use foam weather strip tape.

If you can find a manufacturer name and/or part number on the light's base this will help narrow down the possibilities. If none of the available lenses fit your light you can choose a replacement light assembly using the other link.
