Easy to Load Bike Carrier for a 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid
Question:
I am looking for a bike rack for 2 bikes for my 2007 Honda Civic Hybrid, one that attaches to the trunk. I have found several that will fit the trunk, but I cant find one that has arms low enough for me to lift the bike upon to. Are there any racks that have arms that can be lowered to put the bikes on and then raised? Or are there any racks with stationary arms that are at a lower level than the rear window height? Im getting desperate - I can only use my bike when there is someone here to lift it up for me. Please help Thanks.

All of the trunk mount bike carriers for your 2007 Honda Civic are going to carry the bikes at about the same height. There isn't a model that would allow you to lower the arms to load a bike and then raise the arms back up. The best solution is to use a trailer hitch and a platform style bike carrier.
For your Civic hybrid sedan you can use the Curt hitch # C11391. This is a Class I hitch so you will need a Class I compatible bike carrier. It doesn't have to be an expensive carrier so the Curt # C18085 is a good option. You can lift one end of the bike and place it into a wheel hoop and then left the other end in and secure the bike. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you. You will also need the stabilizer strap # 18050 to support the load.
