Troubleshooting Vehicle Trailer Wiring Running Lights Circuit that Doesnt Function
Question:
My truck has been wired for many years with no issues. My running lights only on my trailer quit working. Ive tested the trailer with a separate battery and the trailer is fine. However, the wire for the trailer running lights coming off my truck isnt showing current. The turn signals are fine! I noticed in my manual that there is a fuse for the trailer left turn and another for the trailer right turn. By chance is there a fuse that controls the trailer running lights?

Most like there is a blown running light fuse on your 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. If you check the fuse panel under the hood you should find a trailer running light fuse.
You can also trace the running light circuit back from the connector to see if there are any breaks in the wire or anything else that could cause a short and fix as necessary.
