What Type of Bolt Should be Used to Attach Bunk Boards to Swivel Brackets

Question:

The bracket above looks like it may work on my trailer. Do you make a version with 3/8 mounting hole to trailer? Do you recommend 3/8 lag screws to attach bunk boards if I have 2X4 bunk boards, maybe 1 inch long? Thanks.

Expert Reply:

All of the swivel brackets we carry use a 1/2 inch fastener (sold separately) to attach the bracket to the mounting surface. The holes to attach to the bunk board are 3/8 inch.

You should use the appropriate sized wood screw or bolt to attach the bunk boards to the brackets. One inch long should work fine for you. The brackets are galvanized steel so to avoid mismatched metal corrosion the fasteners you choose will also need to be galvanized.
