Torque Specifications For Lug Nuts on Thirteen Inch Wheel  

Question:

What are the torque specs for the lug nuts when pairing with a 13-inch rim and tire along with a 3,500 lb. Dexter axle? Also, what are the wheel stud and lug nut specs length, diameter, nut drive size, etc.?

The torque specs are dependent on the lug nut size.

If the lug nut is 7/16 inch the torque should be between 55 and 65 ft-lbs. For 1/2 inch it is 75-85 ft lbs. For 9/16 inch lug nuts the torque is 95-115 ft lbs and for 12 mm the torque should be between 70-80 ft-lbs. Finally, for 14 mm lug nuts the torque is 85-95 ft-lbs.

These specs are all based on a steel wheel and for wheels between 8 and 14 inches diameter.
