Question:
When bypassing factory radiator cooler, does it matter where transmission delivery and return cooling lines are connected? ie right or left side of D13504

When installing a transmission cooler like Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, it does not matter which side is intake and which is output. You do not have to bypass the factory cooler if you do not want to. If you want to keep both, the path of the fluid needs to be transmission to factory cooler, then to Derale cooler, then back to the transmission.
The most important consideration you need to take is where the cooler will be mounted. There are 3 possibilities. The most efficient place to mount the cooler is between the grille and the AC condenser. The next best place is between the AC condenser and the radiator where efficiency will be reduced by 25 percent. The least efficient place is between the radiator and the engine. Efficiency will be reduced by 40 percent in this location. If this is the only option on your 1994 Isuzu Trooper then it is recommended that you use a larger transmission cooler.
Installation is fairly simple. Once you know where you will mount the cooler, you will use the included fasteners (they look like wire ties) to go through the cooler and the component it is mounted to. On the other side, you will place a spacer and then the button lock to hold it in place. The last part of installation is to make the connections with the hoses.
I have included an FAQ article on transmission coolers as well as a video installation below.
