Electric Landing Gear Motor Stalls and Clicks when Under Load

Question:

We have a 2005 Keystone Raptor toy hauler the jacks operate just fine up and down with no load however when lifting the motor eventually stalls and clicks repeatedly. I thought the clicking was the gears however they are not moving when the motor stalls. Have checked the gears they are ok havent taken the jacks out yet to checkthe worm gear and screws. Is it possible that the motor is bad? It works fine up and down with no load.

I have been hearing about this issue a lot lately and it is either the motor or the gear box if not both. The gear boxes and motors are available as replacements for most landing gear systems but to be sure I would need to know the manufacturer and model landing gear that you have.

Gearbox # LG-179015 is a likely fit. It will fit Stromberg-Carlson, Lippert, Venture, and Atwood systems. The motor is a little trickier but knowing the manufacturer and model of the landing gear will help.
