Can a Transmission Cooler be Installed on a 2012 Honda CR-V

Question:

I am looking to install a Transmission cooler on my 2012 CR-V and watched the 2009 CR-V video previous generation CR-V. My generation CR-V appears not to have any transmission lines running towards the radiator as shown in the video. I pulled up a transmission diagram it show tubes running to a ATF warmer mounted on the transmission case, is that were I should run the cooler lines to?

It doesn't look like the 2012 Honda CR-V had a CVT transmission (unless you live in Japan) so you should be able to install a transmission cooler. If the only lines going to and from the transmission are at the ATF warmer then that is the only place you can install a cooler.

It is possible though that there are additional lines on top of the transmission or otherwise out of site. You might want to work it backwards and trace lines from the radiator (which is usually where the factory coolers are located) to see if any go to the transmission. The return line from the radiator is the one you would want.

Otherwise you have the fluid being cooled and then heated again or vice versa and it wouldn't offer much in the way of cooling.
