Brake System Recommendation for 5200 lb Trailer  

Question:

We have a 4 ton Tow trailer with 2 x 2 ton axle to be pulled by Pickup or Land Cruiser. Deck Size: 3850 x 2000 mm with ”A” frame at front. Please quote for suitable brake system compatible with the towing vehicle. Tow trailer weight around 1.6 ton and payload 2 ton Please confirm if Electric brake system is suitable and quote accordingly.

Electric brakes are typically the most cost effective option. I'll link you to an FAQ article that explains the parts necessary to add brakes to a trailer that doesn't currently have them.

In order to spec a braking system for you, I'll need some more information:

Reference numbers from inner and outer wheel bearings
Wheel bolt pattern (see linked article)
Confirmation of axle capacity

The existing axles will need to have brake mounting flanges in place, to provide a mounting point for the brake assemblies.

With this information, I can recommend specific parts for you.
