Adjustable Ball Mount For GMC Sierra 2500 w/ 8 Inch Lift
Question:
was wondering if this would be a good enough for and 8 inch lift with 295-65 tires on a gmc 2500 as i just purchased an 8 inch ,EZ Heavy Duty Adjustable Hitch with Combo Ball, and it seems to be to high. I am going to try it this weekend but am skeptical.

In order to determine the ball mount that would work best for you, measure height of the inside top of the receiver tube to the ground. Then, with the trailer jacked so it's level, measure the distance from the underside of the coupler to the ground. Since in your case, the receiver height is taller than the trailer coupler height, you'll need a ball mount with a drop. I'll link you to an FAQ article that fully shows how to determine the rise/drop ball mount you need.
Since the average trailer coupler height is around 16-20 inches, the # AM3413 would work on vehicles with a hitch receiver height up to 26 inches or so.
Without knowing your hitch height or the height of the coupler on your trailer, I couldn't speculate if the Andersen Rapid Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount # AM3413 would work for you. The ball mount is adjustable to provide a drop up to 10 inches, and includes a platform with a 2 inch and a 2-5/16 inch trailer ball.
