Troubleshooting Flashing Trailer Lights After Replacing 6-way with 4-Way

Why do all my lights flash after hooking up a 4 flat to my Jayco that was a 6 pole square

It sounds like you wired up your new 4-way wrong. What you will want to do is use a 12-volt battery and jumper wire to test all of the wires of your trailer so you can determine their function and then wire up the trailer to your new 4-way according.
The white wire of your 4-way will be the ground, brown will be running lights, the yellow will be left turn/brake, and the green right turn/brake.
