Troubleshooting Drivers Side Taillight Not Working

Question:

I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport. The Tail light on the drivers side is not working, but the passenger side is working. The brake lights are on the same bulb, and both work. I changed the bulb, and still the same problem. All wires look to be in good condition and intact.

If the taillight problem you are having is on your Jeep Wrangler, I recommend checking for a blown taillight fuse in your fuse box cavity M17. This is a 15 amp blue mini fuse for the Left Tail/License/Park Lamp. If the fuse is fine, check the blub to make sure the taillight filament is not burned out.

If the problem is on your trailer lights and the above issues are not a problem, it sounds like you have a weak or bad ground. I recommend making sure the ground location is free of any dirt and debris. If the ground appears clean, you may need to relocate your ground. The best grounding location is at a clean spot on the metal trailer frame or at the main trailer ground.
