After Installing Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Cooler Assembly There is No Temperature Change
Question:
2010 Chevy Suburban with the D15860 installed in series with the factory oil cooler. Purchased last year and finally installed in June, with a 5200 mile trip in July. The remote cooler was installed in open air on brackets behind the front bumper, directly behind the front license plate. Ive verified the fan is pulling air and not pushing, and oil pressure is good over 40 psi. After seeing no change in oil temperature in all conditions, I cut a hole behind the license plate which allows forced air to feed the cooler, and still no change. Reading oil temperature with an Interceptor on the OBD-II.

The issue could be where the temperature is being taken. If it is taking the temperature reading on the output side (on its way to the cooler) then it would read it as hot, normal. If the temperature is taken at the input where it returns then it would be cooler.
