Is Thule OutWay 2-Bike Platform Rack # TH65JV Compatible with 2010 VW Passat Wagon

I have a 2010 VW Passat Wagon. I just purchased the Thule Archway 3, but after getting it on the car, because the bars are so high, it is very difficult for me to lift my bike onto the rack. I thought maybe a hitch on my car and a hitch rack would work, but my wagon is a 4motion, so no hitch works. Now I see this platform rack, which seems like the perfect solution for me...but the question is, can the Passat wagons bumper take the weight? I am hoping to find the right solution for me, my bike and my car! Please advise.

Platform-style racks like the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Rack # TH65JV do offer the advantage of not requiring the user to lift her bikes up quite so high for loading. This excellent carrier will fit on your 2010 Passat Wagon and I confirmed this with my contact at Thule.

Thule is very careful with their fit information and they test extensively. If your Passat Wagon's bumper could not handle the load of the rack and the two bikes Thule would have determined this long before now.
