Trailer Tires Keep Blowing Out on Triple Axle Boat Trailer
Question:
I have a triple axle boat trailer that hauls a 10,000 lb boat. I have had so many problems in the past including blow outs, breaking all the lug bolts off, and burning up hubs. I eventually replaced all the axles with brand new 3500 lb axles on the trailer and put load range E 225/75/15 ST tires all the way around. I am still having blowouts on a regular basis. The tires are radials and I cant understand why Im going through so many tires, about 1 tire every 500 miles. Please help!

It doesn't seem like a capacity problem since the tires you have on there now total almost 17,000 pounds capacity. Make sure that you are inflating the tires to the maximum psi indicated on the tires.
Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire sidewall. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires to handle more vertical load. If under inflated the thicker sidewall generates excessive heat and can lead to failure.
There could also be a problem with the suspension on the trailer. If you can remove the boat you can inspect the suspension. You are looking for anything that is overly worn, egg-shaped holes, obvious damage and anything out of the ordinary. Suspension problems can lead to uneven tire wear and early failure.
