Recommended Hitch Bike Rack for Recumbent Trike on 2006 Toyota Sequoia
Question:
Softride hydraulic assist duratilting bike rack.....Im disabled and have a recumbent trike. I own a 2006 Toyota Sequoia. Will this rack hold my bike and is there any way to make the rack tilt lower so I dont have to lift the bike so high as its too heavy for me.

Recumbent trikes can be fairly heavy so as you consider a bike rack for use on your 2006 Toyota Sequoia you'll want to know your bike's actual weight. Most bike racks have a 35-lb weight capacity for each bike although some do offer a higher weight rating.
We do offer 2-inch hitch racks intended for trikes, such as the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Trike Carrier # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP. This rack offers 100-lbs weight capacity.
This rack lacks the same tilt-away feature of the Softride but if you review the linked video you'll see that you can load the trike fairly easily by first placing the front wheel in a hoop (which will take some of the bike's weight) and then swinging the two rear tires over.
