Which Brake Controller Wiring Adapter Is Needed For Hopkins Agility On 2005 Chevy Tahoe

Question:

Where do I plug in connecting cable # 3015p on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe. I ordered cable to go from Hopkins control 47294 and the plug on the controller does not match the one on the cable. Can I hard wire the wires on the controller to the ones on the cable and match color to color.

The Tekonsha Wire Replacement, # 3015-P, is the adapter to connect the Tekonsha brake controllers to your 2005 Chevy Tahoe factory brake controller harness.

The part you would need to connect the Hopkins Brake Controller, # HM47294, to your Chevy Tahoe factory brake controller harness is the Hopkins Plug-in Simple Brake Wiring Adapter GM, # HM47795.

The red wire on the adapter is left out of the plug when shipped because on different year GM vehicles it goes into a different location. On your 2005 Chevy Tahoe it will go into location D on the wiring adapters port that plugs into your trucks brake controller port.

I am sending a link to the instructions of the Hopkins Wiring Adapter that will show where to connect the red wire.

You can hard wire it to your cable on the truck, by cutting off the plugs on the part # 3015-P, and wire color for color. Using the correct adapter for your Hopkins brake controller allows you to remove the brake controller and switch to another vehicle if needed by just unplugging the connectors.
