Will the Rola NV2 Bike Rack or a Platform Rack Fit a Class I Trailer Hitch on a 2009 Cadillac STS

Question:

We just installed your Hidden Hitch 60830 on our 2009 Cadillac STS specifically for the purpose of attaching a two-bike carrier. Were now shopping for a carrier and like the 59508 Rola NV2 because it secures the bikes wheels. Will the NV2 work with the hitchs 1-1/4 receiver and project sufficiently to clear the rear bumper of the STS? If not, is there a similar carrier that you can recommend? Thanks.

I do have a recommendation I think you are going to like. First, the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02445 will not fit as it is for Class II hitches. The hitch on your 2009 Cadillac STS is a class I hitch. But not to fear, because I do have a solution for you. I recommend the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670.

This is a platform style rack. It fits in a Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitch like yours, holds two bikes, and secures the bikes at the wheels and at the frame. The platform style racks are easier to load as you do not have to lift the bikes as high to load them. The ratcheting frame hooks and wheel loops with rubber straps secure the bike tight while traveling. The rack measures about 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the first wheel loop. I have included a video review and installation details below.
