Recommended Tire/Wheel Combo And Trailer Hub Wheel Studs To Replace Lug Bolts

Question:

I have a 1974 cox trailer that has lug bolts with a 5 on 4 1/2 and a 2.65 pilot diameter on 13 inch rims. Can I convert the hubs to lug nuts or do I need to replace the entire hub assembly? I am having a hard time finding replacement rims and tires. For a 13 inch tire/wheel combo I recommend the Taskmaster ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire, part # TTWA13RTMWS. This has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and features a pilot hole that measures 2.99 inches diameter. The tire is a radial load Range C tire and has a maximum load of 1,360 lbs at 50 psi.

We do offer trailer hub wheel studs that can work for you, depending on the thread size and length you need.

I have attached a link to our product page for the wheel studs we have available. If you have a 1/2-20 bolt the replacement stud you need is part # 25-53.

For a 13 inch tire/wheel combo I recommend part # TA43RR. This wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and has a 2.99 inch diameter pilot hole. The tire is a load range C tire and has a maximum load of 1,360 lbs at 50 psi.
