Distance Center of Hitch Pin Hole to Anti-Rattle Device Adjustable Height Ball Mount DTSTBM6825-2S

Question:

What is the measurement from the center of hitch pin hole on the shank to center of protruding anti-rattle pluginch on top of the shank? My 2014 RAM 2500 4x4 diesel 2.5 in receiver measures two 2 inches from center of hitch pin hole to end of receiver and Im afraid the anti-rattle plug will extend past the receiver with nothing but air to rest/sit against when tightened. Im also having a hard time choosing between Weigh Safe ball mount with 10inch w/SS balls and this Solid-Tow 8inch w/SS balls DTSTBM6825-2S. Ill be towing a new motorcycle single axle trailer that has tongue height of 16in while receiver height truck has 24.5inch ground distance to top inside of receiver. I know this these hitches are overkill for my application but I dont want any Rattle or clucking from the adjustable ball mount and balls and this is the only product Ive been able to discover thatll meet that requirement. Any suggestions on product? Jim

I went and pulled a Solid-Tow Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount # DTSTBM6825-2S from our warehouse to grab the measurement you asked for and found that it measures 1-3/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the anti-rattle device. It should work well for you based on the dimensions you listed. Since this comes with a built in anti-rattle device I would go with this one over the WeighSafe if it was my choice.
