Could the Curt Hitch part # E-100 be Installed Above Trailer Bumper

Question:

May be a strange question, but can the E-100 be placed on the bumper upside down with carriage bolts under the bumper rather than above so the receiver is on top of the bumper rather than below it? I have a pretty low clearance on my back end so thinking about how the bikes will set on the back. Thanks!

There's no reason you couldn't install the Curt Hitch part # E-100 with the hitch opening above the bumper that you plan to install the hitch onto. I spoke with my contact at Curt and he confirmed that this would be just fine.

We had a customer leave a review for this hitch where he did this for carrying a bike rack and he said it worked very well.
