Compatibility of Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Rack with Childrens Bikes on 2013 Toyota Prius

Question:

This looks as if it will work for me, but I may be toting childrens bikes some of the time. Will this rack work for kids bikes as well as adult bikes? PS This is a terrific site very helpful.

The Thule Passage, part # TH911XT is indeed a fit for your 2013 Prius. The arms of the bike rack are 15 inches apart, from outside to outside, so the kid's bikes would need to have top tubes at least 15 inches long, which shouldn't be problem.

The rack would work very well, but if you'll be transporting women's bikes or bikes with sharply-angled top tubes, I'd recommend a frame adapter bar like part # 64005. The bar spans the distance between the handlebar gooseneck and the seat post, which provides a secondary attachment point for the bike rack. This allows the bike to be carried level, which maximizes ground clearance. I'll link you to a video showing how the adapter bar works.
