Ratchet or Buckle Straps to Secure Luggage to Commuter Train
Question:
My group is looking for a retractable strap that can be installed on our commuter trains for customers to use to strap down luggage that they may be traveling with. Is there a specific type that you may be able to recommend? Additionally, I saw that the installing consists of two bolts and two washers, do you have calculations for the durability and amount of stress this can hold? Thank you.

We do not have straps that are specifically designed for your application, but my contact at Cargo Buckle recommended going with retractable ratchet straps like CargoBuckle Mini G3 Retractable Ratchet Straps # IMF18816. These have a break strength of 2000 lbs (also the amount of stress they can hold) and a safe working load limit of 667 lbs, to secure luggage.
