Recommended Replacement 2-Inch Shank for Reese Weight Distribution System # RP66022

Question:

I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe and a Haulmark 8.5 X 16 foot trailer. I need to have a new shank for a Reese 66022 weight distribution trunnion. I need to have this new shank by the end of next week. The trailer hitch level is 16.5 inches to the top of the ball. The top of the ball on the tow vehicle is 21 inches. The current length of the shank bar I am now using is 10 inchs . The receiver is 2 X 2 Inches.

Since your trailer coupler is 4-1/2-inches lower in height than the top of the hitch ball you want to use a 2-inch trunnion style shank with DROP in order for the hitched trailer to remain level. You can use Reese part # RP3215 that you referenced, or part # RP63971, both of which will give you the required drop and work with your Reese # RP66022 weight distribution system.
