Which Replacement Bearing Buddy is Needed
Question:
I purchased this Titan Disc Brake Kit and Swing Away Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Single, 3,500-lb Axle assembly, and installed it on my boat trailer. It works great. I do agree that the instructions are crazy hard to make sense of, so I just used the website and just basically figured it out. I will try to write up some instructions for you guys to post. On my way to the lake 4 hr drive one of my bearing buddies must have fell off. I went to wal mart and bought what they had, but after working on it for a while they just dont fit, so I ran without it on the way home. I think they were 1.98, but they were cheap knockoffs. My question is, what is the bearing buddy part number that corresponds to the bearings shipped with the T4843100 kit? I need to order a replacement. Thanks

The diameter of the correct Replacement Bearing Buddy would be 1.980 (which is the same as the outside diameter of the race associated with the L44649 outer bearing used with the rotors included with your disc brake kit.)
I'd recommend using the Stainless Steel Bearing Buddies, part # BB1980A-SS. The Bearing Buddies are meant to fit VERY tightly, so they're not always easy to drive into place. I've always used a scrap of lumber, like a small piece of 2x4 to protect the Bearing Buddy while driving it in with a hammer.
