Will Trailer Wiring Harness from a 2012 Cadillac SRX Fit 2015 Ford Escape

Question:

I purchased Class 3 hitch and power converter for my 2012 Cadillac srx a couple years ago. Now I am trading the Vehicle in and taking the hitch and converter off. I am purchasing a 2015 Ford Escape and I am going to purchase one of your hitches. Can I use my converter from the Cadillac SRX? I know I will have to hook it up to the wiring harness a little different. Please advise

If you are looking for the most economical way to add trailer wiring to the 2015 Ford Escape that you are purchasing, you can use the Curt 3 Wire to 2 Wire Converter, # C56190. The Escape is going to require a heavy duty converter like the one in part # C56190 so we can not recommend reusing the wiring harness from your 2012 Cadillac SRX.

You may want to consider going with a plug-in option like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # 118566. There isn't a huge difference in price and installation is much simpler. Just plug the T-connector into the Escape's wiring harness located behind the driver's side and passenger side tail lights, run the hot lead up to your car battery, and you are done.
