Tow Bar Braking System Recommendation for 2014 Ford Edge

Question:

I have a 2014 Ford Edge that I want to tow behind a 2013 Allegro Open Road 35 ft motorhome. I previously used a Brake Buddy on a Honda CRV. I have the Edge set up for the Brake Buddy, but it is locking my brakes up and not releasing them causing them to drag and burn flat places on all my tires. I have had to replace my tires with only 4000 miles on them. I have had the Brake Buddy checked by the factory and they said it only needed the 12 volt connection replace. This was done and the same thing happed again, they locked up. Therefore, I am looking for something to replace the Brake Buddy that will be less hassle to use and that will not cause my brakes to lock up ruining my tires. Will the Invisi Brake do this?

It sounds like there may be something malfunctioning with the Brake Buddy and replacing it with the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System, # RM-8700, would be a good idea but an even better option would be the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System, # SM99251. The Stay-IN Play DUO is an installer favorite because it is much easier to install due to the shorter, more direct, cable. The InvisiBrake has a much longer cable that must be precisely routed in order to function properly.
