what is the diameter at the base. it appears to be tapered. any hardware included?

It sounds like you are actually looking for a rear suspension enhancement setup for your 2007 GMC Yukon. The part # F9000 is just a replacement part for a system that isn't designed for your vehicle. Because of that I would not recommend it for you regardless of it's dimensions.
Instead you would want the Firestone Coil Rite kit part # F4108 as it has been confirmed to fit your vehicle and comes with all of the necessary hardware.
