Trunk Mount Bike Rack Fit for 2012 Nissan Rogue With Spoiler On Rear Hatch
Question:
Will this rack fit a 2012 Nissan Rogue w/ spoiler? I would assume so as it is similar in build to the Ford Edge, but I didnt see it listed. If not, what are some trunk racks that are less than $200 that will fit my car? I also do not have any racks on my roof so that narrows my options. Thanks

I do have a solution that would allow you to carry bikes with your 2012 Nissan Rogue, but the fact that the vehicle is equipped with the spoiler means that unfortunately you cannot use a trunk mounted bike rack. The mounting straps for the rack would need to pass over the spoiler, and the bike rack manufacturers have found that the spoiler is not strong enough to bear the weight of the bikes and the rack. Using a trunk mount rack would damage the spoiler.
Your best bet would be to install a trailer hitch and use a hitch mounted bike rack. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class II hitch, part # 36542. The hitch will be almost totally concealed behind the bumper fascia, with the receiver tube being the only visible portion. I've linked you to install instructions and an install video.
For a bike rack, Swagman offers a reasonably priced customer favorite, part # S64650. This rack is lacking some of the bells and whistles of other higher priced racks, but when if you're looking for a budget priced rack to safely transport two bikes, this is the rack for you. I've linked you to a test-fit video showing this rack being installed on a 2015 Rogue.
I realize the cost of the rack and hitch will exceed your stated budget, but the hitch will come in handy later if you ever have need for other hitch mounted accessories like a cargo carrier. The hitch mounted rack I recommended can also be tilted rearward once the bikes are removed, to allow access to the rear cargo area. Trunk mount racks need to be removed before opening the hatch, so this will be much more convenient for you.
