Will the Thule Gateway Trunk Rack Carry Two 20 lb Bikes

Also, how well would it hold up with two 20 lbs bikes driving at 70-85 mph through the freeway?

The Thule Gateway part # TH88VR that you referenced is rated for highway use, so as long as obey the speed limit you would be good in that regard.
The rack has a 70 lb weight capacity as well so your 20 lb bikes would work great.
