Trunk Mount Bike Carrier for a 2015 Subaru Forester with Rear Spoiler

Question:

Have a Subaru forester 2015 with spoiler, would this rack be compatible even with the spoiler, I feel like the downward pressure would damage or remove spoiler on vehicle. Do not want to go the way of hitch. Please let me know when you get a chance and any other suggestions for bike rack on this vehicle. I am using it for a 300 mile drive, so bikes must be secure Thanks for your time

The Thule trunk mount bike carriers are all listed as a fit for the 2015 Subaru Forester as long as it does not have the electronic tailgate option. However, like you said, that rear spoiler is not meant to support additional weight so it is not the best option.

What you will need is the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2. This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over that spoiler so no weight is put on it (since the spoiler is not meant to support weight). I have included a link to a video that shows how it works.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
