Can a Jumper Ground Wire Be Ran from Right Side Tail Light to Left Side on 5th Wheel Trailer

Can I jump the ground wire from the left tail light to the right tail light on my 04 5th wheel colorado. No blinker or brake light in right side. New plug on camper and still doesnt work.And what color is the ground

Yes, you can run a jumper ground from one side of the trailer to the other. Make sure all grounds are connected to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The ground wire color can vary from light to light. If you can access the back of the light assembly, it might say the functions of each of the wires. If it doesn't you can use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires. The one that doesn't have power would be the ground.

Before you go through all of that trouble you might want to make sure the proper signals are coming through on the vehicle side connector. While you are there make sure it and the trailer side connector are both clean and free of corrosion inside where the wires attach and on the pins.
