Are Trailer Leaf Springs Rated Individually or Per Axle
Question:
In building a trailer for a cer that is only 600 kg the tailer will be tandom the spring am looking at arew 700kg but with 2 spring on each side does that make it 1400kg can you help.

A leaf spring can have 2 ratings. If we look at # e54SR as an example. The spring by itself is rated for 1,750 pounds. When 2 are placed on an axle the total capacity is 3,500 pounds. So the lower rating is the spring by itself and the higher rating is per axle (2 springs).
