Best Way to Carry Skis on Roof of 2012 Honda Pilot

Question:

I have a 2012 Honda Pilot with factory side rails and Yakima cross bars. Is there a roof basket available that also allows use of same spots on cross bars for ski racks? I see that the Yakima Basketcase could do that but it was discontinued. Im looking for a solution that will let me: 1. park in my garage 2. hold skis and/or a small amount of cargo Do you have any suggestions?

The ideal way to carry skis and some small amount of cargo on the Yakima crossbars on your 2012 Honda Pilot would be to use the Thule Vector Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box, part # TH613501. This box can carry up to six pairs of skis and unlike a ski rack and cargo basket, this will keep your skis and cargo out of the elements.
