Function of Purple Wire in Universal Installation Kit ETBC7
Question:
on the video for installation of part ETBC7 for 2005 Sienna, the purple wire auxiliary wire was there and then it wasnt. No mention is made of its fate. Was iit not needed and just snipped off?

In the Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7, the purple wire is what gets attached to the reverse light circuit. When installing this trailer connector for use with a 7-way connector on a trailer, this wire is run into the vehicle's taillights to be spliced into the reverse light. In the installation video, this wire was not used and was simply taped off and stored out of the way in case it is needed in the future.
