How to Remove Hitch Lock to Allow Installation of Lock # e98882

Question:

I have lost the key for my hitch lock. Trimax-T5 Black. I would like to replace it with: e98882. Do you have any idea how I can get the one I have now off? Thank you!

You may be able to order a replacement key from the manufacturer of your hitch lock to replace the lost one by giving them the code on the lock face, if there is one. We do not carry that brand of lock but for those we do carry we can usually provide replacement keys based on the lock (or key) number.

You can try drilling out the lock core with a drill bit suitable for metals like steel, or you might ask a local locksmith to do the same for you. This would get the lock off your hitch and allow you to install lock # e98882. Another potential option is to use a grinder to cut off the lock.
