Trunk Mount Bike Rack for 2015 Ford Explorer with Rear Spoiler
Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Explorer 4-door. This vehicle has a spoiler off the roof that the rack straps would have to mount over. Will this spoiler handle the weight? Looking at the Thule Passageway 3-bike. Thanks.

We do not recommend putting any weight on the spoiler on your 2015 Ford Explorer. However there is a trunk mount rack you can use that will not be a problem for the spoiler.
Take a look at the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top rack # HRF2-3. This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps up and over the spoiler so no weight is put on it. I have linked a video review of this rack for you.
If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical mens bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # HRBA-PRO. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance.
