Will 33 Inch Spare Tire Fit In SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier, # SR7018, On 2004 Jeep Liberty

Question:

I have a spare tire that is 33 inches long, 33 inches wide and 12 inches tall. the sport rack aero xl 18 cubic feet seems to be the tallest and widest box available. the dimensions say it should fit but i would like an expert opinion. also the vehicle it will be mounted on is a 2004 jeep liberty. Thanks

Anytime you are going to haul cargo on the roof of a vehicle, you do need to find out the weight capacity of your roof. You can check the owners manual or contact the car dealer for the roof weight capacity that is allowed for your 2004 Jeep Liberty.

The SportRack Roof Cargo Carrier, # SR7018, attaches to the crossbars of the roof rack, that run from side to side. It will work on Thule square crossbars, round crossbars, and most factory crossbars up to 4 inch diameter. The cargo carriers interior dimensions are 63 inches long X 38 inches wide X 19 inches tall, so your 33 inch tire should fit inside the carrier.

If your Jeep Liberty does not have crossbars, than you would need to get the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401, 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, as well as locks # TH450400, which will give you the crossbars needed to install the cargo carrier. This kit will install on the factory side rails of your vehicle.
