Installing Lil Rocker Fifth Wheel Hitch on 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Question:

I have a Lil Rocker fifth wheel hitch. I just bought a new truck, 2014 Chevy 2500HD. Can I install the Reese rail and use my hitch? I tow a gooseneck trailer occasionally for my neighbor, what do I need for that?

The Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 will work with both your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and your RBW Li'l Rocker Fifth Wheel Hitch. The universal rails will require you to drill into the frame of your vehicle. For an easier install, I recommend looking at the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit # RP56001-53. These rails are custom fit to the Silverado and will install into factory holes in the frame.

To tow a gooseneck trailer, the easiest type of adapter to use is a gooseneck hitch that attaches to your fifth wheel hitch rails. I recommend this Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # RP58079. This hitch is rated for a gross towing weight of 25,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. The gooseneck hitch ball has a 2-5/16 inch diameter. This adapter simply slides down over the fifth wheel hitch rails in your truck bed, and includes four pins and clips to secure it.
