Recommended Bike Rack to Carry 43 LB Beach Cruiser and 27 LB Hybrid on 2015 Subaru Forester
Question:
What trunk mounted bike carriers would your recommend that would fit a 2015 Subaru Forester. One of the bikes is a womens 43 lbs beach cruiser. The other is a mens 27 lbs hybrid bike. Thanks!

The Thule Raceway PRO 2-Bike Rack, # TH45JV might work for you with some modifications. This bike rack has a capacity of only 66 lbs and recommends that each bike be 33 pounds or less. For best results you want the weight to be evenly distributed between the two bikes. I spoke with my contact at Thule and a long as the heavy beach cruiser is loaded closest to the vehicle, you shouldn't have any problems, but you would still need to get under the 66 pounds. Could you easily remove a seat or a wheel? Please keep in mind that you do not want to exceed the maximum capacity.
The best way to carry the bikes on your 2015 Subaru Forester would be in a hitch mounted carrier like the Curt # C18085. This carrier offers a 90 lb weight capacity and installs quickly and easily.
